Elliot stood in the centre of the performance studio as he moved his gaze round the entire room. It was so good to back here at camp, now he could show his dancing skills off and maybe learn a few new tricks along the way. He was ready to start practicing so with a click of a button on the control, the stereo kicked into action instantly. He listened to the beat and the rythem of the music, letting it flow through his viens as they pleased. As he felt the flow, Elliot started to dance the routine he had been working on for a couple of weeks and though it was still going through an editing process, what was in the routine was good. As usually as he started to dance, Elliot didn't even notice the person enter through the doorway.

------ It was early in the morning and the first performance was coming up. Because of this, seventeen-year-old Carissa Legard knew just as well as all the other campers at Camp Hope that the pressure was now one. It seemed like most everyone was spending all their free time in the performance arena anymore -trying to perfect their abilities. Yesterday afternoon, for instance, there had been at least ten other campers inside when Carissa had come to practice. This caused her to get little done.
Although Carissa loved attention, the blond was rather self-conscious when it came to practicing in front of others. She was afraid of making mistakes. So, she'd left the arena early last night and had resorted to coming at the only time she knew it was most always free. The morning. She juggled her small tote bag, water bottle, and cell phone amongst her hands as she fumbled with the front door to the arena. Breakfast was going on at this moment... so she assumed the arena would be nearly empty. After walking in, she pushed the door closed quickly. Then, she roamed down the hallway toward the stage. She was just texting Taylor -who was at her grandmother's cabin right then- when the sound of music caught her ears.
Carissa quickened her footsteps and was surprised to find that the door to the studio was already open. She hesitated for a few seconds, and then finally walked in. Her chocolate brown eyes immediately shifted to the stage. And there, she was surprised to find Elliot Jackson. They'd been friends in her first year... and they were still friends... well, sort of. Carissa hadn't seen him much lately. Ever since she'd gotten into the elites... well, she sort of forgot about him. Watching him dance, she considered leaving. He was so good and she didn't want to interrupt him... did she? Carissa just stood in place, not sure what to do as she watched her friend dance. What was she going to say when he did notice her?

In the corner of his eye as he practiced, Elliot spotted a figure that he had not seen before. Looking up, the boy found Carissa watching him. "Carissa, hey," he said, pressing a button to make the music stop playing. A smile appeared on the boy's face, removing the concentration that had inhabited the face before. He continued, "how have you been? I suppose you're here to practice as well." This would be the first time in a while that the pair had spoken to each other, with everything that had gone on since Carissa joined the Elites.

------ Carissa hesitated to say anything. She wasn't sure what she would say even if she was going to speak. After all, it had been quite some time since she or Elliot had uttered even the slightest word to each other. She wasn't sure if he was mad at her or not... but, she wasn't sure she was ready to find out. Carissa was just about to turn and head back out the door, when Elliot suddenly spotted her. At her name, Carissa's gaze quickly turned back to the boy -prepared for any harsh words he might have for her.
"Carissa, hey," She was surprised by the rather friendly tone he still held toward her. Seeing his smile, Carissa gave a small smile herself. "Hey, Elliot," She hesitated before taking a few more steps toward the stage. He switched off the music shortly after that. Carissa slowly slid her cell phone into her tote bag before saying anything else. "That was a good dance," She added, hoping to sound somewhat friendly.
At his next two questions, Carissa gave a nod. "I've been good. Just busy. What about you? Are you glad to be back at camp?" She paused as she opened her bottle of water. Taking a small drink she thought over her answer to his next question. "Yeah, I need to get a little work in before the first performance." She admitted, with a soft shrug. She wondered if anyone else was here, but didn't say anything about it, instead she made her way to the stage and sat her things down on the edge. Looking up at Elliot, Carissa then added. "How's your dancing going?"

Elliot put his hands in his pockets as he took a few steps towards Carissa meeting her in the middle. "That was a good dance" "That, it was ... nothing. It isn't even finished yet," he replied with a smile. Elliot thought back to the last time the pair had had a chat, it had been so long. "I've been good. Just busy. What about you? Are you glad to be back at camp?" Elliot snapped out of his train of thought, "I'm good. Yeah I couldn't wait to come back, neither could my cousin, Sarah. Do you know her? She's here on a Singing major." Elliot doubted that she would, Sarah had joined after Carissa became an Elite. Elliot sat on the stage beside where Carissa set her things. "How's your dancing going?" Elliot thought for a second, "It's . . . coming along. I bet you're twice as good since the last time I heard you sing." Elliot's mind kept on raising the question of where did things go wrong between them whenever he didn't have an answer to give. He thought he knew the answer to it but he had to ask, "where did it go wrong between us Carissa? I understand about you getting into the Elites but when I did, it seemed like you barely noticed."

------ "It didn't look like nothing," Carissa replied, in response to Elliot's remark about his dance. She gave a genuine smile, thinking back to the last part of the dance she'd managed to caught. He was a lot better then he'd been the first day they'd met. Even then, though, he wasn't clumsy. He was far from it. Carissa sometimes wished she was as good on her feet as he was. When it came to dancing, she wasn't all that great. She could do basic choreography that someone else had to come up with. She didn't admit this to most, though. She perferred showing an element of arrogance or an 'I'm good at everything' attitude. "I can't wait to see it when it's done," She added, meakly.
"..I couldn't wait to come back, neither could my cousin, Sarah. Do you know her? She's here on a singing major." At his questions, Carissa racked her mind. She was taking nearly every class Camp Hope would offer her to take in the singing area. But, Carissa rarely paid mind to anyone in any of the classes. She was always so focused on... well, herself. But, she did recall one girl with the last name 'Jackson'. She didn't know her first name, but Carissa assumed that was who Elliot was speaking of. "I think I've met her once," She replied, "I didn't realize she was your cousin, though. I don't think that I've spoken to her." Carissa shrugged, reaching for her water bottle again. She took a small drink and then glanced up on the stage. How long had it been since she'd spoken to Elliot, she wondered.
Carissa watched Elliot sit down on the stage. She considered sitting next to him, but then decided against it. Instead, she leaned on the stage in front of her things, holding her water bottle in one hand as she listened to Elliot. She looked up at him at his question, before giving a half-arrogant, half-sheepish smile. "Well, I suppose you could say that..." She stated, and then paused. It really had been quite some time since the two of them had just spoken on on one like this. "Anything new happen lately?"
